The government relations manager must have a deep knowledge of Capitol Hill and legislative processes — and an understanding that changing policy also requires getting outside the Beltway. They will educate members of Congress and lawmakers and staff at other government agencies about Free Press’ most pressing issues. They will convene legislative briefings as well as work with our team’s campaign leads to coordinate D.C. activities with online activism, in-district meetings, constituent visits and other grassroots advocacy activities taking place outside Washington. We’re looking for someone with 3 or more years of directly relevant experience.

The starting salary is $75,000 – $90,000, depending on years of experienceTo counter pay inequality and uphold internal parity, we use a non negotiable salary system for all new employees.

Generous benefits include group medical insurance, short- and long-term disability insurance, employer paid retirement benefits, health-reimbursement accounts, paid family leave, and a cell phone stipend. Annual paid time off is a total of nine weeks, including vacation, health-care leave and holidays.
