Supervising Organizers Workshop

So you know how to organize, but how do you get others to be good organizers?  Midwest Academy’s Supervising Organizers Workshop deals with the specific challenges of guiding social change organizers to do their best work.  It’s a mix of management skills (developing work plans, building accountable relationships, teaching on-the-job skills) with considerations specific to the organizing work.  How do you develop a common understanding of what’s expected in a rapidly shifting campaign?  How do you build organizers not just for now, but for the long haul?  Explore all this and more in this 3-day workshop.

Lessons From Trainees

“Now I realize I can use the Strategy Chart to develop the strategic thinking of newer staff and leaders.”

“I’m going to be very thoughtful about creating experiences for people to get the skills they need.”

A sample agenda is available. You can also see descriptions for each of the training sites.

Scholarships

We would like everyone in the movement to come to our great training for free! But income from our training and consulting work is the primary source of revenue for the Midwest Academy. These sessions are not subsidized by foundations. Therefore, we are not able to provide a lot of scholarships, and all scholarships are partial. But if your organization truly needs help to access this training, use this form to tell us about yourself and your organization.
