Organizing for Social Change

IMG_0332Our Organizing for Social Change Training gathers progressive organizers from a wide variety of organizations and issues, with varying years of experience, together for 5 days to learn more about Direct Action Organizing methods and techniques. Through a combination of presentation, exercises, and discussion, the training helps participants hone concrete skills that enable them to build collective power to win issue campaigns and develop strong organizations. This is a week-long residential training, held at a retreat center, which offers ample opportunity to network with colleagues and spend time learning and applying new skills and methods. Topics for the 5-day Organizing for Social Change Training include:

  • Understanding Relations of Power
  • Membership and leadership development
  • Choosing and cutting issues
  • Planning effective tactics
  • Developing effective strategy
  • Online organizing strategy
  • Building and maintaining coalitions
  • Current context of progressive organizing
