Paul Booth Memorial Page

Paul and Heather met during a sit-in at the University of Chicago when Heather was a student activist and Paul was on the staff of SDS, and it was a match made in heaven – both for the two of them and for the progressive movement.

Paul became a national leader in the labor movement, retiring only last year from AFSCME after a long career dedicated to justice for working people, and all people across the globe.

He was a mentor and an inspiration to thousands of activists, young and old, and will be dearly missed.

Our hearts and our love go out to Heather and to sons Dan and Gene and their families. If you want to send a personal card, we will be forwarding mail from Midwest Academy to Heather, and you can reach us at Midwest Academy, 27 E. Monroe #1100, Chicago, IL 60603.

Those wishing to send condolences are asked, in lieu of flowers, to contribute to Midwest Academy, Restaurant Opportunities Center or Jobs with Justice. Paul was on the board of Midwest Academy, committed to developing power building strategy for justice and democracy.
