Organizer of the Year

Lenore Palladino is the Field Director of MoveOn.org, focusing on MoveOn's field program and economic justice campaigning. She joined MoveOn in 2007 and builtLenore Palladino MoveOn's in-house field organizing program, which has more than 200 volunteer-driven councils. The field network this year has organized more than 10,000 rapid response local actions, lobby days, press conferences, and rallies to fight for jobs, against big banks, solidarity with Wisconsin, and economic justice in all 435 Congressional Districts.

Previously she was a Lead Organizer with CSEA (Civil Service Employees Association, a New York State Affiliate of AFSCME); a Senior Organizer with Northwest Bronx Community and Clergy Coalition; and National Co-Director of United Students Against Sweatshops (USAS).

In her other life, she is a Ph.D. Candidate in Economics at the New School for Social Research (in the process of writing a dissertation on state fiscal crises') and a student at Fordham Law School.  A graduate of the University of Chicago, she lives in Brooklyn goes back and forth about whether her alternate life should be in Argentina or Italy, and is passionate about fiction, photography and Italian food.
