Position Description
The Senior Community Organizer leads coordination of grassroots, community-driven advocacy, and engagement efforts. The position reports to the Organizing Manager and serves on the Organizing team and the Immigrants & Communities team.

Position Responsibilities
Ensure work is aligned to the goals of the Program Team, Organizing Team, and the strategic objectives of the organization

Lead work with diverse community members and partners to identify issues raised by the community

Develop targeted, community-informed solutions to community issues including the development of policy, legal solutions, and organizing strategies

Plan together with key community leaders to promote positive change and build leadership capacity

Lead coordination of grassroots community engagement, advocacy, and mobilization around important community issues

Serve as key mentor and collaborator with Community Organizers

What you Bring to the Position
The ideal candidate will have the following background or a combination of the following qualifications:

Experience working with communities and leaders from diverse backgrounds (immigrant, multicultural, rural/urban)

Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to work with a range of personalities and skill levels to build consensus from diverse groups and produce high-quality results.

A team player who is curious, creative, energetic, flexible, collaborative, and proactive

Experience developing leadership in others and able to plan for strategy and implementation

Strong facilitation & presentation skills

A self-starter with initiative who can manage multiple projects, next steps, and deadlines

A strategic thinker who always keeps the big picture in mind

Five years of experience in community organizing

Must be fluent in Spanish and English languages, verbal and written communication
