About the Role:

Majority Action campaigns to transform corporate behavior on climate change, racial justice, and inequality by weaving together investigative research, institutional investor engagement, strategic communications, and grassroots partnerships. This role encompasses two critical domains: strategic partnerships and campaign management.

Majority Action forges deep and ongoing partnerships with grassroots and issue campaign organizations, developing strategies and executing tactics that support activists to make their power felt in corporate boardrooms. A successful candidate will excel at building strong relationships with staff and leaders at other organizations in order to conduct long-term joint planning and take advantage of tactical opportunities.

Similarly, Majority Action’s campaigns succeed when we are leveraging the full power of our research and relationships into campaigns that shift norms, build power, and exceed expectations. This role will rely on strong leadership, rigorous backwards planning, proactive internal and external coordination, creativity, and nimbleness in the face of changing circumstances.


  • Collaboratively design rigorous campaign strategies with strong theories of change and power analyses
  • Proactively seek out, build, and cultivate strategic partnerships with grassroots and advocacy organizations that are centered in equity, both for long-term strategy and for immediate campaigns
  • Catalyze and leverage the assets of various partners at strategic moments in time to achieve progress on campaigns
  • Design, coordinate, and oversee the smooth execution of grassroots engagement and campaign tactics with partners
  • Ensure alignment of research, investor engagement, grassroots partnerships, and strategic communications on integrated campaign calendars via strong project management
  • Empower grassroots activists to make their power felt in shareholder strategies in ways that are strategic and relevant
  • Manage consultants effectively to leverage their expertise, and over time, build an internal staff team in support of these activities


The ideal candidate will have:

  • A history of developing and running flexible and responsive issue campaigns with tangible results
  • Deep commitment to racial, economic, and climate justice with a demonstrated record of prioritizing racial equity in the development and execution of internal culture, partnerships, strategies, and tactics
  • A background crafting campaign strategies and tactics with unique, strong theories of change
  • A passion for analyzing campaigns to discover what is working and what isn’t working
  • Track record of developing, cultivating, and leveraging relationships with external partners in a campaign context
  • The ability to persuade and catalyze action among a diverse set of strategic partners with varying levels of familiarity, perspective, and prior experience on a campaign issue
  • A knack for simplifying complex campaigns to mobilize support
  • Able to drive work forward effectively and quickly in a rapid response moment
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills, including meeting planning and facilitation
  • Excellence in project management across multiple team functions (e.g. research, communications, etc.). Experience using project management software helpful, but not required
  • An ownership mentality where you are empowered to seek feedback, remove barriers, and implement new systems with minimal restrictions
  • Clear alignment with our values around corporate accountability, with prior experience in corporate accountability campaigning and/or shareholder advocacy helpful, but not required


Compensation: $115,000

Position includes generous benefits, including fully-employer paid health coverage, a stipend for your home office every two years, among other benefits.
