About CMP:

Climate Mobilization Project, founded in 2015, calls for an all-hands-on-deck Climate Mobilization to achieve decarbonization by 2030. This is the zero-emissions deadline we should be striving for to ensure a safe climate for all.

To this end, we expand awareness and fuel a growing global movement (1 in 10 people around the world live under a Climate Emergency Declaration, which we initiated in 2017); influence transformative policy; and distribute tools and best practices to our network of partners and governments. We succeed by organizing, advocating, and empowering allies, and sharing proven practices. Given the gravity of this climate emergency, we must act with both speed and focus, and do so in close collaboration with a wide range of partners and leaders, from youth climate strikers to policymakers. We have been building a grassroots strategy to make this happen. We now have over 135 local governments in the U.S. on board, with transformational policies flowing from Climate Emergency Declarations. 31 of these governments have set net zero emissions goals by 2030. Now we are working to expand the campaign, deepen the policy impacts, and move entire states into emergency mode on climate—laying the groundwork for implementing a national mobilization.
