The Climate Mobilization and Climate Mobilization Project are creating an emergency speed transformation to an equitable, negative emissions, climate-stable world. We build power through critical thought leadership, coalition-building, cutting-edge policy development, and grassroots organizing.

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced fundraising lead to help us resource this effort by leveraging the growing attention to this crisis in order to cultivate our existing network and expand it.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record of cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding donors resulting in five- and six-figure gifts. They will also have experience in applying for and obtaining foundation grants, preferably for climate or organizing work. We are looking for a driven self-starter, someone with a creative and entrepreneurial mindset who has experience and success with emerging fundraising strategies, utilizing new technologies and platforms to support fundraising goals.

This is a half-time salaried position at $40-$60K depending on experience, with the possibility of expansion to full-time with benefits.

Benefits available to part-time employees include paid time off and a monthly stipend for work-at-home expenses.

Responsibilities

Set the strategy for a major gifts program that includes measurable goals related to research and identification, communication, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship initiatives
Engage major donor and grantmaking prospects in order to build philanthropic relationships with them, as well as re-engage lapsed donors
Coordinate major donor cultivation events, including small house parties and online donor events.
Design and facilitate solicitations for the Executive Director, other senior staff, and board members including developing donor briefings for key meetings and solicitations.
Write individualized cultivation, solicitation and stewardship communications, including emails (ghost for ED and other solicitors) and letters.
Develop compelling messaging and strategy for online fundraising and crowdfunding campaigns in conjunction with the Development Team.
Skills and Requirements

Essential:

Successful track record of philanthropic fundraising, especially for community organizing campaigns/organizations.
Knowledge of best practices in major donor prospecting, development principles, fundraising strategies and ethics, and best uses of social media for fundraising.
Experience with Moves Management.
Experience planning major donor events.
Outstanding time management and organizational skills, and a commitment to excellent communication; proven ability to focus, prioritize and implement a plan.
Enthusiasm for operating in a dynamic decentralized culture.
Desired:

Experience using tools and platforms for a distributed team including Google Suite (Google Docs, Sheets, Drive, etc.), Asana, Slack and cloud-based databases, preferably EveryAction.
Experience in funding community organizing work.
Experience in social change/movement work.
Experience in growing mailing lists.
Experience in innovative small donor fundraising.
