POSITION SUMMARY

Claretian Associates is at a critical period in a major growth phase and is seeking a dynamic and detailed oriented Program Coordinator to ensure the success of the Empowering Black Futures Initiatives (EBF) Program.  The Program Coordinator is a newly created position and will be part of a small team responsible for driving EBF’s work forward, in particular supporting day-to-day communications, day-to-day administration, community engagement, and data functions.  An action plan and philanthropy plan have been created to guide program efforts in South Chicago.

MAJOR RESPONIBILITIES

  •  Provide day-to-day support and facilitation of the EBF effort working with the CEO and other key staff to ensure progress is being made in meeting EBF goals and that the action plan and philanthropy plan are being adhered to.  Ensure all partners are aware of EBF outcome metrics.
  • Build and maintain a strong relationship with community partners participating in the EBF Initiative.
  • Facilitate ongoing communication between EBF partners by hosting virtual and/or in-person meetings and coordinating email updates to ensure alignment of activities.
  • Build and maintain relationships with government, the private sector, and other nonprofit organizations working in South Chicago.
  • Develop and maintain a list of community partners and upcoming events that contribute to meeting EBF goals.
  • Coordinate research and other activities with EBF partners to minimize redundancies and to align strategies and actions.
  • Work with CEO to coordinate with other related projects and coalitions to maintain a full understanding of the current landscape of local and regional activities and integrating their work into EBF Action Plan.
  • Oversee the planning, coordination, and implementation of the EBF Action Plan, working collaboratively with CEO, or key staff, and Enterprise Community Partners.
  •  Assisting EBF partners as they carry out their Action Plan activities and ensuring alignment with EBF goals.
  • Assessing the merits of relevant exemplary programs in use elsewhere for adaptation in South Chicago.
  • Maintaining understanding of implementation challenges and developing comprehensive solutions to address them.
  •  Communicating the objectives of the EBF Initiative to the community and potential partners.
  • Planning and managing logistics of EBF meetings and events.
  • Drafting content about the EBF Initiative for use in various internal organizational and externally facing communications.
  • Creating progress reports, as needed, for EBF partners, CA Board and other stakeholders.
  •  Preparing reports, as required, for submission to funding partners.
  • Working with Enterprise Community Partners on data collection, analysis, and presentation of outcomes.
  • Collect data internally and from EBF partners to supplement EBF dashboard that tracks program outcome metrics.

PERFORMANCE MEASURES

  • Plans/projects are completed on schedule, within budget and in accord with desired outcomes.
  • Outcome metrics are collected, analyzed, and reflect progress being made toward meeting EBF goals and the objectives within the Action Plan.
  • High level of community satisfaction with outcomes of the EBF Initiative.  Community members possess feelings of belonging to the neighborhood and agency within it.
  •  Growth in community partners’ diversity and connectedness to each other.  Level of synergy created as a result of the EBF Initiative.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Requires a bachelor’s degree and a minimum of five years’ work experience within a nonprofit, government, or relevant private sector setting, including one or more years of proven community outreach and coordination experience.
  • Project management experience, including a proven track record in designing and implementing social, housing, community development, economic development and/or other related programs in low income, majority BIPOC communities.
  • Knowledge of and commitment to the Collective Impact Model and its implementation, as well as: strong community engagement and facilitation skills; demonstrated ability to build relationships with a diverse, cross-sectoral range of stakeholders; demonstrated ability to organize and facilitate meetings with key stakeholders; demonstrated ability to produce informational materials and progress reports; demonstrated entrepreneurial orientation with the ability to work cohesively within an organizational setting.
  •  Strong skills in networking.
  •  Must be a multi-tasker, self-starter with strong time-management skills.
  •  Demonstrated ability to develop and lead teams in diverse settings (groups and mindsets).
  •  Excellent writing and oral presentation skills.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Strong computer skills.
  •  Flexibility and the ability to work autonomously as well as take direction as needed.
  •  Must be willing to work flexible hours, including some evenings and weekends.

COMPENSATION

  •  Annual salary of $50,000
  • Includes medical, dental, vision, vacation and other benefits.
