Frank Chopp
Washington House Speaker Frank Chopp is serving his eighth term in the House of Representatives. He has held the position of Speaker since 1999 and has served the Washington's 43rd district since 1995.
Speaker Chopp was born and raised in Bremerton and graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Washington in 1975. He has been a tireless anti-poverty and social service advocate in our state, working with the Fremont Public Association, later known as Solid Ground, since 1983.
As Speaker, Frank has committed himself to policies that work for One Washington — a strong public education system, health care for every child, good-paying jobs, and protecting our evergreen environment.
Provided overall leadership and management for the Freemont Public Association (FPA) as Executive Director and President of the non-profit agency. Greatly expanded the organization to include over 30 programs serving thousands of people each year in Seattle and King County.
